Okay I am getting confused a lot of people label some like Dr. Phil (American Television quack) a NW7

I thought a NW7 was something like Peter Boyle of Everybody Loves Raymond or like the Norwood photo where it is basically right above the ear.

Or this is a NW6? Kurtwood Smith of That 70's Show and Robocop

Not really to be honest, but it would be nice to know.

Its all to do with how high the hair on the sides and back goes up to the top of the head. With a 6 it goes about 3/4 inches above the ear on a 7 its only about 2 inches. And yes it does make a difference.

NW7s would need 50 thousand hairs to get a head of hair, assuming the average head does have 100 thousand hairs.

That would be 25 thousand grafts, or actually 15 thousand, for a similar cosmetic effect. That's twice the donor needed. All we need to do is find a way to "twin" a hair follicle, doubling the donor. Man, we can build a large hadron atom smasher, but can't make a copy of a tiny little follicle. :(
