I have been smoking a pack daily for the past 9 months and my hair has become even worse during this time. I have searched on internet and there are only few studies claiming that smoking does make your hair loss worse but these studies do not make any sense to me.

healthier habits can strengthen your hair somewhat, but if you're actually balding I don't think changes in diet/smoking/drinking make much of a difference at all.
I could be wrong though, but that's just my understanding.

no, but its bad for you and you should stop anyway. Lol if ur hair would make you consider quitting but cancer/heart/lung problems will not get your head in the right place

No. It has no effect on male pattern baldness.

It may constrict the blood vessels and hinder the outcome of a hair transplant but that's pretty much it.

if it constrict blood vessel, it might enhance hairloss in the same way as stress do, no??

btw found this http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23629119
"
[h=4]RESULTS:[/h]Increased smoking duration (p < 0.001) and the presence of dandruff (p = 0.028) were significantly associated with increased frontal hair loss."

Just to put this thread to rest. Smoking isn't good for any part of your body. It's not like there's Omega 3 mixed in with all the other carcinogens. Bumming a smoke when you're out drinking some night or having one after a good boning isn't going to kill you, but doing it for an extended period of time will most definitely be detrimental to the long term health of your teeth, hair, lungs, heart, metabolism, and just about anything else associated with your overall well-being. Whilst it may not be directly "bad" for your hair like it is for your lungs, I'm positive it's not good for you either. Drugs are bad... m'kay.

It accelerates the balding process as shown by studies.
