Chronic telogen effluvium or female pattern hairloss?

That is possible. The hope would be that sex hormone levels would eventually return to normal some time after ceasing the medication.

Could it take so long for hormones to go back to normal? Or is it more likely that something else like the trigger for telogen effluvium is causing it still?

It can. For example, men will take dutasteride and it will eventually block over 90% of the hormone DHT. Dutasteride has a half life of 5 weeks, so after a man has been on the drug for a few months and then stops, it will linger in his system for around 6 months. It's possible that it may reside and still have effects on the scalp tissues for even longer than that. Finasteride, though, will only linger for about 1 month after ceasing. So each drug is going to vary.

Yeah I would still advise you to get a derm to check things out

Did you ever go to the derm?

Hi, i haven’t since it’s hard to get transferred to one where i live. I’ve had blood work done though and everything is fine besides my bilirubin levels which are still a little high after i quit the medication
