From finistride 1.0mg/day to Dutasteride 0.5mg every other day.

Gonna preload it 1.5mg/day for 5 days.

Will report any difference in hairloss/libido.

Jeff,
Switching to dutasteride after 6 months on finasteride is childish. Either you should have been using dutasteride from the start or given finasteride 12 months to assess results. At six months I had zero results with finasteride and at 12 months my hair clearly looked better then when I started. I don't get you man, you are so frantic. Your hair is not even that bad and is certainly not at a point where you need to throw dutasteride at it. I can tell that you really only need some added density to have your hair look 100% normal as I have the same sort of loss. If finasteride cannot give you this slight increase in hair density then neither will dutasteride.
I feel for you and can understand your anxiety and depression. However, I wanted to point out to people who are researching whether they should start a regime, that Jeff's decision to switch to dutasteride after 6 months on finasteride is not wise and an example of what not to do.

If i would have known about dutasteride when i first started losing hair i would have went on dutasteride. finasteride is what my dermatologist gave me and that's what i've been using.

It seems like i've been shedding for 6 months straight. it falls in the shower, it falls when i comb my hair.. it falls while i sleep.. if i itch my head it falls...

and now the hairs are getting thinner.. male pattern baldness is really starting to take a toll on my apperance. My hairline is getting higher.. there is a bald spot starting to form

I dont see a reaason why NOT to use the most powerful DHT inhibitor..
the way i see it the only difference between finasteride and dutasteride is that dutasteride is going to block both types of enzymes.. so it's not like i'm changng my regimine. just toughening it up.

I think you're making a mistake with your method of switching to dutasteride, it may just cause a massive shed by pre-loading it as you plan to do.

I recommend making the switch gradually by replacing one finasteride for one dutasteride in week one, then 2 in week 2 etc. This way you will have a gradual transition from one to the other with no major fluctuations in your hormones.

Well according to that graph on Hairsite, its the preferred method to rapidly bring DHT under control. Otherwise it will take several weeks to build up enough in your system to keep DHT at bay.

I think the reason people have that shed is because when they start on 0.5 a day, their DHT goes through the roof due to the short half life of finasteride, and the weeks it takes for the dutasteride to start doing anything. It takes 60 days at the 0.5 to get it under control!
