Can your hairloss be influenced by both sides of the family?

For example, say your father is a NW7 but your grandfather died at a NW2. Is it possible to end up as a NW4 or NW5, or do you always follow a specific person's hairloss pattern?

Could be possible but from what I've seen you either copy one side or the other thats why there are plenty of examples of NW6 guys who have NW1 brothers and men with full heads of hair who's sons go totally bald.

hair loss comes from both sides of the family

even if your dad is nw2 and mom's dad nw3-4
grandfather's nw2-3 uncle's nw2

you have a chance to recede or possibly go bald

genetics usually determine what you will turn out like
but it's no guarantee

sometimes you'll be the wild card in the family and go totally bald

but usually you will remain in the close proximity to your kin hairloss pattern

So the two factors aren't combined?

You either take after your father or your mother's father in most cases?

My father is a norwood 7 but kept his hair (although thin all over-his hair type) until he was 37ish.

I on the other hand started losing density when I was 17-18, I believe. Why did it affect me so early?

My mother's father was bald too according ot my mom.

No, the two factors ARE combined. Hair loss is affected by many genes.
