hi folks,

considering surgery , but think im diffuse thinning... is FUE suitable ?

i dont want major intervention tbh, im pretty good at concealing my hair loss and dont want a perfect hair line, just a bit of an improvement - ideally i dont want people to know ive had any work done...

obv my hair loss will continue, ive had to quit dutasteride because of sperm motility issues, does this inevitably mean another surgery in the future?

photos attached, used a marker to show where im at...

thanks in advance...

Ive been diffuse thinning for over 9 years. I just got my first 2100 graft procedure last month. I went to Dr.Cole at the Forehair clinic in alpharetta GA. A very well known doctor in the FUE transplant field. There was never anything said about my thinning style being an issue. Aside from the reminder that I will continue to lose hair around the transplant hairs, over the coming years...but that was an obvious comment I knew was coming.

You're not really diffuse thinning so much as just receeding back into a NW4. Looks like you'd be a fine candidate to me based on nothing thinning behind the front region but it just begs the question why you would want to go through this if it would just look unnatural again in 3-5 years when you've thinned out behind (and yes another surgery or you accept/shave it). Why not look into getting some sort of maintenance from topical finasteride?

I think a transplant would do great for you.

Yes you may thin over the years however you will enjoy a great hairline for a few years and then if the back does start to thin out, it will look far better with the front still in tact.

You can get a touch up job in 5 / 6 years if needed.

Just a little concerned with anything finasteride related at the moment with my sperm issues, dont want any risk that something i am taking is the reason we cant have kids... was on finasteride and then dutasteride, never tried topical - will look into it... can it impact sperm motility do you know?
