Can Overstyling Your Hair Contribute To Baldness?

I'm sure I'm not the only person here who spends ages combing, pulling, scrunching ect their hair to get it to look half decent. Some days I'll be 15 minutes or more in front of the mirror (and it still looks sh*t:rolleyes:). Do people think this can contribute to baldness?

I think it's possible to cause some traction alopecia depending on rough you are and how long. But if your hair is strong, it would just mean losing a few more hairs. I don't think it would contribute at all to male pattern baldness.

Thanks guys, this is what I suspected but I did read that (excessive) pulling of your hair can weaken the hair follicle. Normally your hair would grow back but if you're already on the way to male pattern baldness it probably wouldn't help.

It could cause baldness, but not male pattern baldness.
male pattern baldness is 100% genetics , or in other words - luck.
