Can Overly Dense Hairlines Be Fixed With Bleaching?

I have a similar problem with my first piece - the knots aren't bleached and it is too dense in general. I was going to bleach the hairline like the man in video does.

Is this a good or bad idea? Any risks to the system or my skin with it?

Going to order another (hopefully much better) piece soon, I'm already sick of having to hide my hairline!}

No, visible knots and over-dense hairline are two different problems.

If you need to thin out the hairline, there are 2 ways. First is to soak the hairline in warm water for 15 minutes or so, then while the piece is still wet pluck out a few selected hairs. The soaking makes the knots swell and lubricates them slightly, making it easier to pull them out. You still have to be careful not to tear the lace, or to pull out too many at a time and create a bald patch. It's best to pluck a few, then stop and see what that looks like, and then if it's still too dense go back for some more.

The second way is to use a chemical hair remover like Nair. You dot it selectively on the knots on the underside of the base. It eats through the hair and knot, but doesn't affect the lace mesh. Again, use it carefully, to avoid creating bald spots.
