Can minoxidil actually make your hair WORSE?

I've been on finasteride for a few years and recently started using nizoral. At 34 years old, I have a fairly good amount of hair. But recently i started noticing 'lines' around the hairline and crown that i have never noticed before. I keep my hair pretty short so I probably wouldnt have even noticed them if I had my hair grown out. Now I'm really considering using minoxidil to see if I can get my crown and hairline a bit thicker and fill in these lines. But I heard in some cased it can actually make your hair look worse than it did before using it. I've love to improve what I have now, but afraid I could make things even worse. Is that a legit concern when considering minoxidil?

Anybody care to take a stab? I'm asking because i heard that the all that shedding that rogaine causes can be pretty intense and sometimes can make hairs you had before you started using minoxidil fall out, making you look worse than you did before you started using it.

wow man you have good hair. i would love if my hairline was like yours. I think my hair has actually gotten worse with minoxidil ..
