Almost 17. Think may have been losing temples just after 6 months??? My mother noticed it first. She has hairloss and her temples are really thin. Dad is bald at 51 (shaves his head). Started in early 30s thinning. I have a big forehead my temples were always blond in pictures which was lighter than the rest of my hair. So both grandads have hair, paternal one has hairloss at crown. But both parents?? I really don't want to believe it. But give honest opinion. First pic is of my hair in May this year. The next July. Then Oct...

Yes, hairs can miniaturise from terminal to vellus in a single hair follice cycle.

@BetaBoy so a hair follicle cycle is 6 months or less?

No, hair follicles are typically in the growth phase (anagen) for 1000 days. At any one time 90% of your hair is anagen and the other 10% is catagen/telogen. In ΑGΑ hair follicles are vulnerable to miniaturisation in the catagen-telogen transition. When hair follicles eventual go back into anagen, typically 3 months after they went catagen, they will produce vellus hairs. In short time spans these effects are hard to notice but over longer periods they become more easily identifiable.
