As above.
I've receding hair loss already
The process is speeding up so fast, it's so weird to me.
My dad is bald..so since my hairline is already receding upwards like a V or M...i feel at my age (will be 20 end of the year), i need to at least stop or slow down.
I dont want to buy those pills like proscar or propecia since I'm not working, and it's too expensive for me. And the side-effects, even 2% of the world population isn't a small amount.
So, I bought nizoral 1% off a local pharmacy like a week back and I've been using it.
Guys, can just using nizoral prevent further hair loss and maybe, increase a lil hair at the receding part ?

Don't be.

- Hairloss can progress veeeeeerrry slowly in some people.
- It doesn't look as bad to girls as you think it does.
- If it gets to a point where you really don't like it, you can always try a complete treatment (propecia, etc!).

Keep your chin up!

nah, i don't ever want to try those propecia, proscar etc.
i think i'll just look forward then.

flea, DHT thrives on fat around the stomach.
If possible get very lean and minimum % body fat.
That will help with your baldness.
you can get generic proscar real cheap online (around 20$) for a year.
If you don't want to take it, you can try spironolactone.
If you are NW2, even revivogen/spironolactone combo might help you hold what you have.

You might be one of the lucky ones that really dont mind about their hairloss.

But keep in mind that when this condition progresses you will mind at some point. And it would be better to start minding earlier.

I am not telling you to jump on finasteride(as you are not even 20yo) but try and find a regimen that will give you ground till you can pull something better.

minoxidil and a topical antiandrogen would be a good bet to delay this.
Keep using Nizoral.

well im 21 and unfortunetly my front sides are going forming a v type (not all gone but in the process)
propecia in its full 1mg dose gives me sides so im on ~ .88mg every other day (1/6 proscar) and 2% nizoral for about 3 months
havent seen any improvement yet but im hoping at the least itll slow it down in the long run, ill give it a yr to see how it goes

Side effects can be minimized by keeping dosage to the recommended 1ml two times daily. The most common side effects are limited to itching, inflammation and redness at the site of application. These are typically uncommon and can be countered with skin soothing products like Emu Oil, Folligen Lotion, Aloe Vera, Tricomin, or Prox-N. Please see our Product Reviews home page for more information on these treatments. Another school of thought is to identify why you're having the irritation. You can try other versions that don't contain PPG, since this is what causes most cases of irritation. You can use a version with glycerine instead, which is made available by prescription from Minoxidil.com.

Over-absorption of Minoxidil into the system can result in vision changes, chest pain, and fast or irregular heartbeat. Women who opt for the 5% version may experience additional unwanted facial hair growth.

I've experienced flakes/dandruff due to the irritation of the scalp and that's about it. Tgel once every couple of days takes care of the problem.

is the 5% a must or is it the only one that really works as opposed to the 2% (ie is it ok to be on the 5% for a long time or better to be on the 5% for a bit then move to the 2%)

justlooking and jeffs,
I am not an expert. There have been studies that showed that DHT gets stored in the tummy region. The more fatter you have more DHT you are likely to produce.
By losing weight and being thin around the stomach you can minimize your DHT production.
Bryan or other experts please help and quote the source.

Who knows. Maybe the 2% will work, maybe the 5% will work better, or maybe they both will have no effect. Unfortunately products work differently on different people and some people dont respond at all. But the key is that you'll never know unless you try, and the sooner you try the better your chances at maintance and regrowth.
