ive been on the 5% foam for almost 7 weeks, first time for minoxidil. No problems whatsoever so far. I went through three cans in just under 2 months so I'm using more than I should. I have hair so I need to use more than recommended.
Also had very little shedding. Just a bit, nothing crazy.

As for finasteride, I don't use it, but it's not the min that carries it, it's the solvent, so it shouldn't make any difference on what the min conc. Is.
I did order the 6% minoxidil with .05% finasteride, just to apply at night.

i would apply at day because in the night its more likely you transfer the minoxidil from your scalp to your face (via pillow, sweating etc) where minoxidil can lead to accelerate skin ageing

Meh, I'm 52 and look like I'm old anyways. I'm a sunshine lover and have never concerned myself with sunscreen in the past. I use the foam as a styling product, really thickens my hair alot.

I think that the liquid would give me greasy daytime hair

Here's my hair styled with the foam

I tried it many years ago. The itch drove me nuts
After 3 weeks. That's the longest I've managed to go. Maybe try again, it's mostly grey now, so not as appealing as a dark beard.
