Can I style hair with gel using Toppik?

Hey. I am considering buying Toppik for use in my frontal region because I am thinning there.

I am wondering if it's possible to use hair-gel when using Toppik?

Also, is Toppik the best on the market?

For me, Toppik did nothing but look like I had dumped sawdust in my hair, especially in the front. I used it once a threw it away.
