Can I Spray Alcohol ([Re]positioning spray] on Ghostbond/Whiteglue to buy Positioning Time?

The first few times I installed a system on my head I was discouraged because I couldn't position it correctly.

Then I signed up here and found out spraying alcohol on my tape would deactivate the stickiness for a minute or so, allowing me to get perfect positioning.

I now apply ghostbond directly to my head & have a method for adjusting which is involved and not as effective as the one above described.

So can I spray the the ghostbond once it had dried, or will that make it run? I'm afraid to get adhesive in my unit's hair...

It's a water based adhesive. You would mist water, very lightly, to extend drying time.

To extend drying time of a solvent based adhesive, you would mist alcohol.

Yes, you can. I do it all the time when attaching and my bond lasts a month. Although, the manufacturer says no. It's not possible to align the piece properly, if it gets stuck immediately when it touches the head. If you're really skilled, it may be possible. Definitely use a headband or two then to position and keep it in an absolutely correct position while applying the glue.

Stick with which Carrier is used to evaporate......

Water with water alcohol with solvent..

I like you, but I don't know why you always want to go against the grain.

If alcohol was advisable or worked better, the manufacturer would say so.

They want you to get the best hold time and have the best experience possible, so that you continue to be a patron....

I don't think a solvent can change the molecular structure.
Respectfully, you need a refresher in chemistry. You cannot alter the composition without altering it.
Ghostbond uses water...water is what evaporates and dictates the cure time. If you want a longer cure time you add more water... Quicker cure time, less water.
Why would you add a substance the product is completely void of?

That's like advising if you're low on gasoline, to add water or diesel....

If you're boiling pasta...and the water level drops below the pasta, before it's finished cooking.... do you add orange juice? Vodka? Or more water?

What is your reason for not doing it properly?

I know you're on a budget, but water is free, more readily available, and most importantly, appropriate in this instance.

See, that's what I originally figured, but wouldn't that mean - and I haven't tried this yet - that anyone who uses a lace system w/ white glue would get seepage as soon as they took their first shower?

If you mean water will extend drying time while the product is still wet (freshly applied) then of course, but I don't want that; I don't want the glue going right thru the lace and into the hair.

I want it to stay hard and intact, but become unsticky for a minute or so, in order that I can adjust - the way I did w tape and lace.

One uses positioning spray/alcohol to buy themselves a little time when positioning an install. So it doesn't grab right away.

Ghostbond is not as affected by water once it's cured, but ultimately, yes....it will be affected in a shower if you use it with lace.

I feel ghostbond is best with a poly system, if it works well with your chemistry. This way it's protected from outside water. Acrylic adhesive and tape is best for lace.

But a lot of ppl here glue their lace pieces or hybrid pieces with lace hairlines with white glue & I'm not hearing complaints.

"Ghostbond is not as affected by water once it's cured, but ultimately, yes....it will be affected in a shower if you use it with lace." What do you mean by that - could you kindly elaborate?

When it dries... it dries as an almost a hard skin. So briefly getting it wet and drying it right away will not always cause it to lift. However if you get caught in the rain sweat, or take a shower, yes it will lift. The water almost reverts it to its original state, similar to what it was in the bottle. Once that water evaporates it will re-cure

See if I've done ghostbonds so few times, and have been so desperate to clean it off my scalp (baby oil is best, better than C22), that I haven't expirimented enough. I do feel like I've tried hitting the dried product with water/alcohol in effort to see if it's become liquidy again, and from what I recall, it did not.

There are variables, it's not absolute. What's you're body temperature? Sweating? Sebum production? Quantity of water....temperature of water... duration of exposure....

This is a very simple question that presumably affects a lot of ppl here. AND IT GETS NO ATTENTION FROM THE "OGS" who ask for f*****g pictures of people. Get off this forum if you're not going to be helpful.

I don't know wtf you guys are up to. I know one is a seller, and probably the other refers ppl to him, or some nonsense. I just don't remember. All I remmeber is sending fake pics because I was very put off that AS SOON AS I GOT ON HERE, there was aggressive PMing for nothings unrelated to the hair.

You guys very seldom help so I'd love to see you leave.

See, I want to f*** up a good lace piece trying to figure that out; that's why I wish some of these other more predatorial OGs would actually help.

Get off this forum if you can't be helpful. Thats what people are seeking. They're not signing up here to buy overly expensive hair & send pictures of themselves to you
