I wouldn't mess with duta I read something about type II dht being vital to being able to have kids and sh*t. Sides staying prominent even after discontinuing the drug. Stick with fina. Some things are more important than hair.

I'll consult with my dermatologist about this

3 MONTH UPDATE:

So the results seem to be encouraging. At this rate, I think I will gain some nice density by the end of this year. Restarting works! Fingers crossed.

Pics here

Those are very solid Results for 3 months only, looks promising! Do you have before and after pics of your last stint on dutasteride?

Nice, month 3 looks like a good improvement, it will be super interesting to hear back from you when you get to 6 months.

The minoxidil, are you using liquid or foam? And, how much are you using roughly in ml per day?

I will keep posting monthy updates!

It's a generic liquid. I use 2 ml once a day at night :)

Hey guys,

So I'm finally here after 6 months of restarting Minoxidil+Dutasteride.
There's definitely a trend visible. The pics from the last few months are comparable and the bald spot might look slighty bigger or smaller depending on how the hair is settled around the area.
But, overall, I think there's growth.
There are new vellus hair that have grown 2-3 inches and have brought down my hairline by a centimeter! I hope these convert to terminal strong hairs by the end of 12 months.
Tell me what you think.
Cheers!

Statistically, yes, with consistent use of dutasteride or finasteride 10 years+ of maintenance is the most likely scenario

Be thankful you're living post 1990's when such an option exists

What... I'm on Duta... what happens after 10 years go by????? You'll eventually lose your hair even if you'll still keep being on it???

What mad you do only dutasteride twice a week?
I take my pills according to what my doctor prescribed me. I don't generally self treat. As a biochemist myself, I know the sort of hazards it can cause.
The dosage depends on how high your serum DHT is and how sensitive your follicles are.

Thanks that's interesting that your Doctor seems knowledgeable about dutasteride for hair loss. From my experience, most docs/derms don't know much in regards to dutasteride. Where do u live and what kind of Doctor r they?

Your results r great btw

Thanks, mate.
This was in India. My doctor's a dermatologist. Now, I live in Germany but I buy the generics from back home.
It costs like $100 for a 6 months supply of 5% Minoxidil, 0.5g Dutasteride, ketoconazole shampoo and a horde of vitamin and supplements ;)

And to answer your original question check out two studies. We can't guarantee you respond the same way but the stats r on your side. Seems like u have the option to up your dose down the line too

Study 1: look up the 10 year finasteride study by Rossi et al
Study 2: look up the 4 year Korean avodart study. Although the study design is a bit flawed (data mostly on participants that decided to respond) the results r encouraging

Yes, I've checked that and other studies. I've also checked data on minoxidil. I was obsessed in the beginning, I read every research article related to the matter :)
