Can Hypothyroidism/telogen Effluvium Cause Miniaturization?

ive been shedding hair since july 2017. last december i was diagnosed with hupothyroidism hence my shedding. lately ive noticed that some of the hair that i shed is now miniaturized and has a smaller circumference compared to the other ones. can the telogen effluvium i had aggrevate the male baldness gene? is it normal to shed them slightly thinner since i have Telogen Effluvium?

Miniturization can def occur with telogen effluvium my doctor told me in t.e and c.t.e you can see alot of short cycling (google this lots of info on internet) which is a sign you are recovering from t.e or c.t.e. have u tried min? It helps with t.e. also t.e can result in mpbing this is really common apparently

but what scares me is that these hairs a are thin but long. it makes me think that this might be an itreversible miniaturization

I think this is more common than you think. Most likely you're probably seeing both male pattern baldness and t.e. you can still see those thin long hairs with t.e. your scalp will continue to cycle through them until the source of the shock is treated. Hopping on min wont hurt either way its meant to stop that miniturization but see your derm to make sure. Or posr pics people here can help

how many hair cycles do you think a hair goes through before it dies due to dht?

ik currently on minoxidil but whta worries me is that 2 years from now ive read that it will lose its effect. i also wanted to go on finasteride but my endo and derm didnt want to since im only 19 yrs. old

My thin hairs look pretty much similar and are of low quality. Do you lose hair from sides as well, and is it itchy?

yup and eyebrows as well
