not sure if hard water has anything to do with hair loss but it has ruined my skin (dry, itchy and red bumps). I grew up in an area that was naturally soft water and now I've moved to an area where water is very hard and now my skin has gone to pot..Some people use a water filter to soften the water...

Oh . Maybe I know something . If somebody lived in an area with hard water for a long time , he may get used to the water and nothing will be done to him ; But if someone lived in an area with soft water and then he moved to a place where the water is hard , then it may led him to get hair loss ! I set the post just because I notice this phenomenon and you gave me an exact example . Try to use soft water in your life . Wish you good luck ! Thanks my friend

no.. if it would, all men in your town - who drink it or shower - would be bald.

maybe it is not super good for hair, but it does not cause male pattern baldness. i lived in a place with "hard" water all my life.. didn't have no problem untill now..

As much as I'd love you to be right on this one for I want to blame my hairloss on anything else but my poor genes, I have to disgree with you. I am an immigrant and I know plenty of other people who have moved here from my country where the water is soft in most of the areas. yet I don't see all of them going bald at once because of the hard water here. Also if it somehow affected your hair in a bad way, your would lose your hair all over not like male pattern baldness........IT IS IN YOUR GENES!

It's funny, I recently moved to an area with hard water and my hair has gotten thicker and more coarse (which is a good thing)

Your falling into the very common fallacy of seeing two unconnected things happening and assuming they are cause effect relationship. Water like many other things has no real link to male pattern baldness they are two separate things even though you wake up tomorrow and see you have less hair does not mean the water or the sun caused that.
