I'm 18 years old and I started to lose my hair about 3 years ago. I started with 1mg finasteride and nizoral for about 15 days ago, and soon I'll pretend to start with minoxidil too. I think I'm Norwood 2.5 - 3. My side hairs since my 10 years are thin, my question is, can finasteride thick these hairs? My second question is, with the big3, can my hairline advance at least 1cm? Pics below.

That's pretty aggressive hair loss for an 18 year old, but I must admit you hide it well and I wouldnt think you were Norwood 2.5 - NW3 ( which you correctly self diagnosed) with your hair falling covering it. I too have thin sides ( Retrograde Alopecia ) and finasteride did nothing to help this.. It is thought thinning of the usually male pattern baldness resistant area is due to something else other than androgenic alopecia. I would recommend you look into dutasteride instead of finasteride. The chance of side effects are a bit higher but it is indisputably more powerful. Regrowth from finasteride alone is unlikely so I would recommend thoroughly researching the pros and cons of dutasteride and come to an educated and informed decision of whether you should use it or not. minoxidil CAN thicken your side hairs if you are a responder but I wouldn't use it without dutasteride or finasteride. Without immediate action you will likely be noticeably bald by 21.
The conclusion: I think 0.5mg of dutasteride, Minoxidil and Nizoral twice a week should be enough to at least stop you from going more bald, you may get lucky and have regrowth but you will most likely need to get a hair transplant to restore the hair you have already lost.
