Lets say you havent started balding yet, but you know you will be bald at the age of 40 because of both sides of the family. If you start taking finasteride and Propecia now, can it have opposite affects and make you start balding? Or does it make you only keep your hair.

If the equation were true, that DHT does in fact cause hair loss, then taking Finasteride now before the hair loss becomes visible to you would be a "good" thing in pure theory!

See if you are certain you are to be bald, the process may have already started, it may exist for some years before it becomes noticeable to you.

No one knows for sure if Finasteride can actually cause more harm than good but there are people who say it will, can and certainly does.

If I were you, I'd be investigating the use of Curcumin and Apple Poly and trying to inhibit TGF-beta instead of DHT.

Wait, why would you try to inhibit TGF-Beta instead of DHT if you were me?

Why would that happen? male pattern baldness is about sensitivity to DHT. finasteride reduces DHT to a more tolerable level, but male pattern baldness is a progressive condition, so eventually your follicles become sensitive to even very low levels of DHT. I don't think taking finasteride would 'weaken' your follicles' resistance to DHT.

So there is no way possible it can have a reversal effect. Because I am 18 and I just want to keep a full head of hair until Hair Cloning comes out.

We know there are non-responders, but claims that finasteride can increase hair loss (beyond a possible initial shedding phase) just sound bizarre, illogical and incredible to me.
