I have the male pattern baldness genes, that's a 100% certainty - balding at the crown for many years now.

I'm interested to know from peoples own first-hand experiences or from factual scientific studies as regards whether or not extreme dieting for a few months (AKA "crash dieting") can speed up the process of male pattern baldness?

I have been dieting pretty extremely for the last 5 months and I have noticed that my hair has thinned out drastically more on top over the last 2 months i.e. at a faster rate than it was previously, hence I'm not sure if the male pattern baldness has just sped up naturally or if it's my extreme dieting that has caused the rapid decent of hair density on the top of my scalp.

If this extreme dieting is the cause, is it possible that it will grow back now that I have resumed a "normal" daily calorie intake.

PLEASE NOTE: I'm not talking about Telogen Effluvium (Telogen Effluvium) - my hair at the back and sides is still at normal density.
