Can anyone suggest a treatment for me?

I'm only 18 and I already started balding, I currently have long hair to cover the front up but when my forehead is exposed (like when its windy) it looks really bad.
This is most likely male pattern baldness. I don't expect to regrow any hair, but I want to stop or slow down my balding process. Any suggestions of what medication to use?

Also, I might start using Proscar, but I heard it has really bad side effects. Most people use 1/4 of 5mg per day, so maybe only 0.5mg per day is a safe amount? Or Avodart? I haven't heard anything bad about it.

start with the rogain foam asap. thats step one. step two, try proscar, you have to use it to see if you get side effects, all i heard about was libido and erectile issues and how it was gonna effect it. it didnt have the slightest effect on me in those regards. same thing with avodart, didnt effect me negatively except it was a little tough on the my liver.
