Can a hair system be worn over SMP?

Hey All,

I’ve been wearing hair systems for about a year and as my sides (temporal triangles) have already receded, I’m only really limited to a selection of hairstyles (mainly covering up the sides below where the temporal points would reach).

I've been looking into Scalp Micropigmentation and FUE (just for the temples) recently to open up more flexibility into hairstyles.

Does anyone in this forum wear a hair system with SMP underneath?

If so would anyone mind posting up some pictures (or pasting some links) as to what the hairline (and sides) would look like?

Thanks guys!

Yes, people do it all the time. They use it to fill in sparse hair in the "donut", and to be able to shave their heads, and still get a faded look.

I assume you mean to fill in weak sides & back?

I was always thinking this was a dead on giveaway that someone was wearing a piece. People w full, dense hair almost invariably have very strong sides and backs.

But I've less than ideal sides on people who absolutely don't wear toupees & have thick hair.

Obviously they don't have hair like Michael Dukakis, but I'm still talking thick. You'd be surprised.

Well this is why the ideal to me is typically light density.

You're totally right, but the instinct should be to not have a straight hairline and to reduce the density.

Yep I haven’t seen a single guy with a full head of hair that doesn’t have strong sides and back.

Even guys that are thinning at the hairline and on top have slightly defined triangles at the sides of their heads.

I too have always thought that receded sides are a dead giveaway that someone is wearing a hair system.

EDIT: I completely retract this statement as after doing a bit more research on hairlines (especially mature hairlines), men can have a full head of thick hair on top with receded temporal points.

For example here’s one video of one I quickly found:

You can use a product like Bigen to both color and define your sides and back. It stains the skin for days/weeks, creating an SMP fill-in style effect.

There's a recent thread about this on the Northwest Lace forum.

The guy's pics are very small but can be viewed a little larger if you adjust the parameters on imgur.
Amazing post - thanks. My sides are back are very similar to this this guy's Before shot, unfortunately.

Guess I'll need some SMP... ;)

EDIT: I take that back entirely. His Befores are much worse than mine. My hair looks like his short, & immediately post SMP. That's a good thing I guess! :)

I’ve never heard of products like these. It looks like boot polish that goes on your hair and beard to give it full density. can you link one of the products that mimic short stubble or smp please @cottonReville as I think I’m googling the wrong stuff.

I mean it will not, unless you are meticulous & replicate what, presumably, the microneedling tatto'ist does when he or she, does sometimes eyebrows or hair, but it does stain, is well known to.

I always knew guys used it as the barbershop for"crispy" hairlines & for the George Michael beard.

Anyway, I just use it as a color for my eyebrows, while using it as both color and skin-stain for my bio hair. That's to say, I leave it on for longer when I put it on my hair.

Here it is, extremely easy & gentle to use: https://www.riteaid.com/shop/bigen-...Mytqe3DOK5zoyeipfVtDhw7CkkbdQxVxoCMwUQAvD_BwE

This is a link to the powder form - the preferred form - in the blackest of blacks. I personally use color 57. The number of colors they have is astounding. I buy mine from the beauty supply, next to the barbershop ;)
