TL;DR: Some questions that I hope you can answer are below.

Cruel fate, isn't it? Hairy everywhere except on the top of your head. I was trying to find people similar to me (hairy, bearded, and diffuse thinning) so I can know their experience but I didn't find many posts.

Basically I'm hairy every where. I also have a beard that's just missing the moustache connectors. It might seem stupid, but I actually do care about changes in body hair due to finasteride but so far I haven't noticed anything (1.5 months on finasteride). I'm perfectly ok with body hair thinning if I get my head hair back, but so far I have not noticed anything on my body that might indicate finasteride is actually working on my body. No side effects, no regrowth, no body/facial hair changes. My hair loss is diffuse thinning in the frontal area and my crown. No hairline recession but the hair is thin.

I'm only on finasteride, but I'd still like to know the experiences of people who use min so please specify if you also use min. So here are my questions for you all:

1- How long until your thin areas started improving?

2- If bearded, did you notice any thinning? Did your beard stop growing in more areas?

3- If hairy, did you notice any thinning? If so, where in your body did you notice it?

I don't have a thick beard, but a have a jungle on my legs for example. So i guess i'm eligible. Been on finasteride for 11 months

1 - Apparently i'm not one of those people that gets regrowth from finasteride after like 3 months, i'm 11 months in and i think i'm maintaining pretty well, maybe even getting slight thickening at this point, but not sure.

2 - No, quite the opposite, i just turned 24, and it's continuing to slowly develop, as it always did.

3 - No, it's still a jungle

1- Didn't get regrowth from finasteride alone, just slowed down diffuse thinning in NW6 pattern.

2- No, I shave or trim my beard weekly/twice a week same as I did before, I keep it short but I have a dense beard.

3- No, I still have to shave back/upper arms often and trim everything else. If finasteride slowed down body hair growth without other side effects I wouldn't mind.

Yeah, it sucks especially with dark hair on light skin. Looks bad if you don't manage it properly/frequently

I pop the pill right before bed so I never actually tried masturbating right after.

My opinion probably doesn't matter but hairy guys can be sexy especially if they're fit. Even back hair. Just shave your shoulder hair

There's always laser treatment if it gets too bad. Works best on light skin with dark hair.

Yeah, i just shave shoulder and back and leave chest/forearms since I don't mind those, I'm reasonably fit. The hard part is shaving upper arm/shoulder hair without it looking retarded when you still have forearm hair. I trim chest/forearms sometimes, but not shave.

Have you figured the trick to shaving your shoulder hair? I get nervous every time I have to do it.

This is me, super diffuse, lots of body hair, thick beard.

1- How long until your thin areas started improving? 6 months and really nothing improved. My scalp seems to be less sweaty (would always be crazy sweaty before). I've had very very minor regrowth since like month 4 but really no cosmetic improvement at all.

2- If bearded, did you notice any thinning? Did your beard stop growing in more areas? No, thick as ever.

3- If hairy, did you notice any thinning? If so, where in your body did you notice it? No, thick as ever.

Well this is kinda not what I expected honestly. From most posts on hairloss forums hairy people had the best results from finasteride.

Exactly hairy people do get better results from finasteride simply because DHT is the main culprit. Who knows what causes hairloss for guys with almost no facial or body hair, probably a chain reaction of DHT and other shite.

Started to get hairy in my early 20's, still do not why :D my dad is 55 with great hair and zero body hair, but has got a thick beard thou.

Anyways,

1. Improvement after 6 months

2. Beard hair falling more often, but no visible thinning

3. Don't know I had chest and back hair lasered out, f*** that sh*t. There is still some left on my back, need to see my derm to laser that sh*t out.

I'm 32. If you read enough threads around the Internet (I'm obsessive about this lately), you'll see there's no real pre indicators of success with these drugs. Sometimes older guys with fair hair and no body hair get tons of success, young hairy diffusers get nothing....and sometimes the opposite. Everyone wants a pattern or prediction. You just have to try treatment and see. Luckily minoxidil seems to maybe be starting to work for me.
