We always talk about girls and how they do or dont date bald or thinning guys. The question here is would YOU date a bald women or a women with thinning hair, you know the thinning hair that looks gross.

That is not even a fair assumption, that is like saying would you date a women with a penis. Women are not bald unless they have some medical condtion. Fact is they just dont suffer from DHT pattern baldness. The ratio of bald women is like 1 in 1000, for men its like 1 out of 3.

I wouldnt date a bald chick unless it was the borg queen from star trek.

check your facts.... women do suffer from hormonal hairloss and way more than 1 in a 1000 will experience thinning by they time they are 65.

My girlfriend knows a lady that comes to her salon and she has the horseshoe and bald crown just like a guy, they have to take her in a private room for her haircuts.

Sorry bomb 5 in 1000 women suffer from baldness- Hows that???Better

In my quest for the search for male pattern baldness I discovered how much more common women suffer from thinning hair then I realized. In all honesty, I had no idea how many women suffer from this. Honestly, it made me feel better about my hairloss when I discovered this. And, no I can't say I would date a female losing her hair, as much as a double standard that is.

maybe... i dont trust your figure is researched.

"Nearly 40% of women by age 60 experience some form of hair loss."

Seems like 2 out of 5 to me

but what point is there to be made? it sucks more for a woman? it's more acceptable to date a bald man versus a bald woman? lets not waste our energy debating these things... going bald sucks... the end.

Ok well putting aside how many women suffer and blah blah... How many of you would find them atractive?

I wouldnt ever date one, i may bone one if they had a hot body but i could never bring her out in public.

Good point Bomb and I agree it does suck, I prays to god that they cure this sh*t.

Evolution predicts that we are gradually loosing all our hair, by the next century we should all be bald anyway.

Typeter what if Shania Twain was Bald would you do her? See my point, I guess it is what you look like but in general bald women are quite surprising in apperance to put it nicely because I know alot of them monitor this forum.

My girl has some thinning, I've never cared. She's not losing - it's been that way for years. It's minimal, but it's not a full head. Irrelevant to me.

I dated a woman who had thinning hair once, due to thyroid issues. But I was busy looking at the rest of her (she was a knockout and sexually powerful) so I guess it did not matter a whole lot.

To each his own!

It wouldn't bother me too much. Although having great hair adds to sex appeal, it's not a show stopper for me. I think I'd be okay with it, as long as the other ingredients were in place :)

i saw a chick with a bald spot at the bar last night. it was pretty big. she was probably in her early to mid twenties. maybe she had some kind of treatment that made her lose her hair.

I'd make her buy toppik, teach her how to use it, then measure the results. If her tits were still big, I'd go for it.

There was a recent study that tried to measure the components of attraction to the opposite sex. The general results were that females are attracted to men who look healthy... not healthy in the granola sense, but healthy in terms of having strong genes with which to be strong to protect them, and to be good providers for the young. This study says that there is a deep instinct in women to be attracted to men who have built up some muscle, and have a look that makes women think the men will have some longevity in their lives. It's one of those internal mechanisms that harken back to our days living in caves, etc.

Of course, this plays against us as balding sends an instinctual signal to them that we are further along the life longevity trail than our full-headed competitors for mates. BUT, this can play in our favor if we maximise the other aspects of our lifestyle that will help us present ourselves as being potentially physically protective and being internally healthy and young. This means nutrition and the gym, boys. A youthful complexion and nice physique can counteract the stigma of hair loss.

Don't believe me? Just look at midnightflyer's quote above. This same study says that men are instinctively attracted to women who show charateristics of being fertile mates... large breasts and a nice hip/waist proportion are indicators of this. Ever wonder why men obsess about tits so much? It's from our caveman days! And the concept applies to men as well as women... if placed in a room with a woman that has a full head of hair but has a boyish body and a G.I. Jane-shaved headed Demi Moore with all those fine curves of hers... even if I were tricked into believing that she was permanently bald.. I'd pick her over the first choice any day of the week as a potential mate.

Good post gardener. Its wierd. My mom when she was young had decent hair thickness and now when she is like 54 her hair is so darn thin. Its amazing how thin her hair is.

I would maybe date a bald chick if she wore a wig every single time I saw her. She would have to be good looking with the wig on and have most of the package with her.

Gardener, it depends how far you have been balding though.

Completley bald, it makes you look older

I dont think hair loss matters to much if you are a NW2 1/2 and under to get chicks. Some guys can pull of NW3's and you cant really tell they have hairloss issues unless you look at it from a balding perspective like us.

Most girls are totally oblivous when it comes to male hair. Do you really think they know the Norwood scale and about thinning and the horse shoe pattern? It does take away from your looks but you still look ok with a NW3 and under if you style your hair ok.

Most women have a different pattern of hair loss, like diffuse thinning which means it thins all over. I think diffuse thinning isn't as noticable as a bald spot. Anyway women don't have the same amount of DHT so they're balding generally happen's at a much slower rate i.e gettine noticable much later in life than us guys. it's true some girls with short hair look attractive, I suppose it depends on the shape of your head really, I mean a big head with a little pencil neck looks sh*t, and women generally have pencil necks. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I like women with the neck of a bulldog if they're bald, I'd probally have to take the body into consideration.

Riiiiight. So when you scroll down the page and see the forum pertaining to "Women's General Hair Loss Discussions", I suppose you think that's just there for decoration, eh?

But no doubt you're hoping some woman with Rapunzelian locks is going fall in love/stay in love with you when you've got a head like a baby's bum?

And they say romance is dead. tsk, tsk.
