Nope. Looks to be a NW6. A NW7 is where the sides recede down to the point they are almost touching the ears and the back of the head recedes to be in level with your ears. Most men who go bald don't actually reach NW7. Its usually a NW5 or NW6. The most common of the three being NW6.

It’s going half way down my head tho Andy what gives.

Should I start up dutasteride and minoxidil? If it gets much worse I’ll go hair system and call it a day.

This sh*t literally started with slight crown thinning in May. I think I gotta get some tests or something

Trust me it's not a NW7. We are own worst critics when it comes to our hair. When I first joined this forum I was sure I was a NW3.. 2 years later I'm still not a NW3 but I'd give both my nuts to have the hair I did when I signed up here on August 2016. I personally wouldn't jump the gun just yet.. How long has it now been since you started finasteride? If you really want to give dutasteride a shot then I would at the very, very least give finasteride 6 months first. Also, do NOT add in minoxidil while another treatment is still within its response timeline as this can cause confusion to whether what, if any treatment is working.

Almost 3 months on finasteride. Well below baseline. Some ppl tell me it’s a shed but I was thicc when I started and now I’m thinning like this

I went below baseline pretty fast too. I noticed my temples were disappearing about a month and a half in, and by month 4 they were completely gone! Then the hairline started to recede..

So does this mean I should quit or whaa?
I wouldn't quit. If you feel finasteride has made your hair worse you can only imagine how bad it could get with all that DHT floating about uninhibited!
Definitely, definitely stay on finasteride. Something I've always wanted to try was a topical anti androgen.. Not like RU but something like topical flutamide, Cyproterone, Darolutamide, etc. At least that way you would know for sure you had all the androgen bases covered.

I’m worried about feminizing sides tho. Wouldn’t it be logical to just move up to dutasteride and inhibit more dht rather than combining finasteride with a topical? All of my loss is extremely recent so if I can just stop the shedding now maybe if I respond to minoxidil I can get back something?

Edit: inb4 duts feminizing sides

The whole point of topicals is to minimize or completely avoid systematic absorption. I guess it would be logical, but I would be wary about starting dutasteride. We've all heard the stories so I don't think I need to explain haha. Sure if you respond to minoxidil you will get some hair back, but it's technically only a chemical wig and the hairs being grown back are kept on minoxidil 'life support' until the treatment loses effectiveness and those hairs are gone forever. (maybe)

Well I’ve had no sides so far with finasteride. I need to go back to my derm for a refill so I may ask about dutasteride and see what’s up. I wouldn’t mind wearing a chemical wig as long as I can keep my hair for longer. I’ve been interested in daro do you have any idea what the price range is looking like?
