Are you guys experiencing gyno a bit on the "stocky" side? I heard that guys carrying extra weight are more at risk of gyno on finasteride, because they already have elevated estrogen levels.

I would suggest getting off this junk A.S.A.P and not touching it if your thinking of starting propecia/finasteride.

I think it's been 3 years since I've been taking it now, And the very first few days on I had some really bad pain in my testicle area. I searched a few of these sites and saw that others had the same symptoms on and off so I figured it's normal right? not exactly, I noticed after a while that if I didnt take the damn pill on schedule, I would start to get a sore achy dull pain in my right testicle, which would subside after taking a pill. These days the pain is a much more intense at times and I've decided to flush my last few packets down the toilet.

it's not normal, there's not enough solid information available from merck, I'd rather shave my head then screw with my body like this anymore.

As for breast cancer...

The relationship between long-term use of finasteride and male breast neoplasia is currently unknown. During a 4- to 6-year placebo- and comparator-controlled study that enrolled 3047 men, there were 4
cases of breast cancer in men treated with PROSCAR but no cases in men not treated with PROSCAR. In another 4-year, placebo-controlled study that enrolled 3040 men, there were 2 cases of breast cancer in
placebo-treated men, but no cases were reported in men treated with PROSCAR.

Although there aren't so much publications about direct relationship around finasteride and breastcancer, it is quite clear that finasteride (such as proscar, gefina etc.) do actually raise the risk of male breastcancer. One cannot interpretate anything about relationship between breastcancer and finasteride base on those two studys because their primarily target wasn't breastcancer. There are two options for detecting breastcancer: either you do a research with 0-hypothesis: finasteride don't cause breastcancer, or you make a meta-analysis of all the researches that has been performed around breastcancer and finasteride.

I myself am a medical student (M.sc=patheatic), and during my plasticsurgery course i asked my professor about this. He told me that the only male breastcancer in clinical work are consisted of BRCA-1,2(heretide form,the risk of breast- and prostatecancer are really high), livercirrosis and finasteride (proscar=prostate) patient. The latter two causes estrogen/androgen imbalance, which raise risk for getting breast cancer. The same phenomena is seen at man with klinefelter syndrome, condition where its genome is 47 XXY, it cause gynecomastia and infertility among others. I myself have witnessed couple men with prostate medication and gynecomastia. Two of them have been diagnosed T1N0M0 unilateral breast cancer. The reason why there aren't studies about outcomes of that is because those patients are oftently killed by prostate cancer, so breastcancer never had its chance.
