Obviously their making more money then they should but if they aren't being paid that money then who will be? The movie company? What makes them any more deserving then the actors. The movie system as it currently is, is not going to undergo a regression. The prices will remain and continually raise each and every year. Inevitably profits will be made. Personally I'd like to see prices reduced and Actors get paid less. Since thats not going to happen I'd rather see the money go to the Actors/Directors then people in the movie company. I find them more deserving.

Blue: I was just joking about nobody paying to see your movie. I dont lmpe what has given you the impression everyone can act though. I act worth sh*t. You might be able to go through the motions of acting but can you be convincing and convey the proper emotions for a movie. No.

Johnny Depps hair is cool, High forehead/widows peak (like men are SUPPOSED to have when they are over 25!) and a lot hair behind it. He can play it up or cover it up...

I do hate the majority of those liberl losers, they spout off about politics but dont have to deal with reprucussions.(Kurt Russel, Mel Gibson, James Woods, Dennis Miller are all ok in my book....)

I mean in Hollywood its ok to support gangsta violence, shootem up films, and tits coming out during a "family program"(superbowl) and its ok to show "Freddie" slashing up teenagers for all the impressionable 11 year olds, but God forbid if you make a movie about Christ.

Apparently movies like ghandi, schindlers list, and Private Ryan are all ok. But they have a problem with a film that was taken directly from the scriptures(unlike the last temp. of Christ) about a guy that died for a huge cause? F'em all! (sorry for the rant)

The problem with Gibson's film is not that it's about Christ, it's that the violence in the movie borders on pornography. And the messages of peace and tolerance and compassion that Jesus preached are obscured by a compulsive focus on the brutalilty of His death. This may have been an accepted interpretation of scripture in the middle ages, but shouldn't we have moved beyond this?

I bet Jesus had great hair.

Im going to have to disagree with that hinde.I think that the reason that this movie is so gory and brutal is because people are always going around sayin "yeah but he died for your sins".Honestly i dont think people know how much pain he had to go through to do that.
People just throw it aside, but in this movie i think Gibson wanted to show people the torment that Jesus had to go through in order to save us.People liked Braveheart and in my opinion was alot more bloodier then "passion of the Christ".I mean in Braveheart peoples heads were comin off and axes were being driven into peoples chests.I think people are forgeting that this is a movie. We go see movies for entertainment.if people dont like it dont go see it.

Just to clarify:

I didn't mean to suggest that the violence was a turn off, in and off itself. Obviously, movies typically thrive on amazing acts of destruction and dismemberment. However, violence and suffering in The Passion overwhelm other scriptural themes that could be particularly poignant given the current state of the world. It just seems to me that this is the wrong time for a reminder that religion can be brutal and maybe the right time for some of the New Testament's endorsements of unity or compassion.

uh Hinde, sorry to tell you this but you cant make a movie about the crusifiction with it being violent. The dude had his *** kicked over and over ok?

1) porno is people having sex
2) Spielberg didnt take this much crap over private ryan or schindlers list
3) hollywood is evil, Christ is anti-evil
END OF STORY

Not to be a dick, but

http://www.m-w.com

Pornography - the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction <the pornography of violence>

And no sh*t the crucifixion was violent, but Gibson relishes the violence above EVERYTHING else. Is that the message of Christianity? Jesus was severely beaten? No. It's a critical and essential part of the story, but not the denouement.

Or maybe it is. I don't really care. As long as we can equate Hollywood with Satan, it's all good.

good point, but like I say, it was a bloody brutal act, which left him him a completely broken down state. He was trying to drive home the point of just how much he went through for us.

You cant drive home that point, and be true to beating he went through, with just a couple trickles of blood.

gotta go....

Thats another point i wanted to make.Americans like violence. You cant say no about that. Before 9/11,i think any and all violence wasnt takin seriouslly.Im not going to lie Men love the movie Braveheart because peoples heads were being choped off.You cant tell me no about that either,Thats why so many people like racing, people are just waitin for a 34 car pileup.
In movies we get to se things we will never see in real life and it gives us a rush.Like if a bus goes through 4 houses we think" that sh*t looked cool",but...if it happened in real life we would still be amazed but we would think that sucks.although i will have to agree with you on how now...after 9/11 things have changed. Then again i dont know how something that happened 3 or 4 years ago has to do with a bloody movie about Christ.

Personally I have no problem with actors/actresses in general, it's just those that use any chance they have to bring attention to their political beliefs like Penn and Moore did. It was in bad taste, especially when you are accepting an award for something that is not political. I mean how hard is it to walk up on stage thank the cast, your family, and the academy and get your *** off the stage? That is one reason people like Jack Nicholson so much, he knows what he gets paid to do and when the camera is on he keeps his mouth shut about his personal views. There is nothing wrong with using your celebrity for a good cause, but it is sad when they have to use their pedestal to rant their complains, especially when they are being honored for an award in acting.

Sure just about everyone can act in some degree, but it's a whole different story when you are on stage or in front of a camera. Some people are just better at it then others are, but in contrast there are people that just have the looks and can't act worth a damn, then there are those that were in the right place at the right time. What's so great about the system though is that those who just have good looks and little or no acting ability end up being on those "Whatever happened to..." shows saying how they had to declare bankruptcy because the money all dried up.

If you are going to get ticked off about how much money actors make then you should really be pissed off at how much money athletes are making.

I also thought the LOTR movies were a bit long winded too, hell I even fell asleep during the first one and at the end of the third one. The good thing about the third one though was at least five times during the movie I wanted to get up and scream "This movie f*****g rocks!" Even if 2/3 of the movie bored the living hell out of me the 1/3 of the movie was well worth the other bunk you had to sit through to see the good parts.
