Ive noticed boots now do a hair retention programme here in belfast, does anyone have any experience of it? I know theres a mark up on the propecia they provide but would maybe feel more comfortable going and actually seeing a pharmacist who cn check on progress.

Wouldn't say their Propecia has a 'mark-up', as such. Costs £30 a month if you get a 3 month supply with them. You're not going to to find geniune Propecia cheaper than that in the UK. You'll be paying more like £35 a month in you manage to get a prescription through your GP.

i went to sign up to it. went for my appointment and check up and stuff, i walked away thinking it wasn't really worth the money, not when i can get finasteride for half the price on the internet, which i'm now doing.

Hello UKmale24

Can you recommend a reputable place to get Finasteride from in the UK?

I've got an appointment at Boots on Friday, but if I could get the same stuff cheaper would deffo go for that.

Cheers!

Well they dont do it in Northern Ireland anyway, think its better avoided anyway to be honest. The best source is Dr Ashcroft who Ive ordered mine from, does a years worth for £120 - you can get him on 07971472823

I don't buy mine from within the UK but get mine on Inhousepharmacy. If you do it, only order a month's supply at a time, even if you order a month's supply, then purchase another month's supply a few days later, to stop yourself from being charged from import duties. Think the generic finasteride i got off there was about £13.

Had my appointment at Boots today. Was really just a case of fill in a form and listen to the pharmacist tell me about Finasteride. She didn't inspect my hair or anything which I was a bit surprised about, but she took a couple of photos of my hair at the front but they weren't close ups so don't reckon they will be of much help when it comes to seeing if there is any progress in 6 months time. I've singed up for the first 3 months, if it all goes well with no sides I will start buying Proscar as will work out a lot cheaper.
