Bodyhair / Systematic Absorption?

Hello All,

Im 26 years old and currently (almost?) a nw2. The crown area of my head has always been a bit thin though and in combination with my snail pace balding (started round 20) i thought i’ll give it a little boost. I have been using liquid Kirkland Minoxidil, on a dry scalp, on the crown only, 2ml once a day for about four months. I have no idea if it is really working because i cant really monitor progress in that area. I am also not too interested in obsessing about this. In the First month i lost a lot of hair daily all over my head.

I’ am bit worried about systematic absorption. Since i have been using it my beard has gone up about 4cm. There is some fuzz starting under my eyes. Also my earlobes started growing 3cm long hairs:confused:. Increased hair growth between the eyebrows. Also notice more/longer nose hairs. Even the back of my hands are getting fur and existing arm hair just seems thicker. Apart from my hairy legs i never had much body hair.

On a seemingly more positive side i also start to see some fuzz sprouting in my temples to the point of my hairline about 5 years ago. Since this week i started putting foam in there just to see what will happen.

Shaving is kinda annoying but better than thinning i guess. Though i am a bit concerned about possible side effects (collagen breakdown in body) because it seems the minoxidil is going systematic. Maybe i can reduce the effects by lowering the dose and still keep the effects.

For all you once a day minoxidil users, how much do you apply on the crown/in total? On a website double the normal 1ml dose was recommended. Maybe there are also some forum members with similar effects who can give a little advice?

Thank you for reading so far!

If you're experiencing hypertrichosis it means its going systemic. May need to lower the doseage/strength or consider using the foam.

Your dosage is fine and yes I did notice some hair in my facial area get a little thicker while on Min. It could have also been due to normal development of androgenic hair. I have been on Minoxidil for 6 years and it hasn't affected my skin one bit.

Thank you for the answers. Cant use foam due semi-long hair. I wil try lowering the dose to a minimum.

I wonder if it goes systematic in this extent for me only, or if i'm just sensetive to it. In the case of the latter systemetic absortion is a lot higher then we thought?

Greetings,
