What do you think will cause more hairloss: Bodybuilding (building muscle hypertrophy), or Weightlifting/Powerlifting (improving a maximum weight one time).
For comparison, both are performed natural of course.

What are your thoughts?

Not a myth in my opinion but unknown the extent of the effect.

Creatine which is a common supplement definitely increases DHT,

Study on creatine

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19741313

Also testosterone spikes during workouts

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2796409

And DHT increases long term compared to control group

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3040039/

"Exercisers had significantly increased DHT and SHBG levels at 3 and 12 months after randomization when compared with controls (Table 3). Men in the exercise group experienced a 14.5% increase in DHT at 3 months, compared with a 1.7% increase among controls (exercisers vs controls P = 0.04). At 12 months, the mean DHT level in the exercise group remained elevated above baseline by 8.6% compared with a decrease of 3.1% among controls"

Personally my hairloss rate seemed to double when I started working out. The evidence points me in the direction that it definitely has an effect, but there are no direct link studies on hairloss and lifting, so something like comparing bodybuilding and weightlifting on hairloss is impossible to know and borderline impossible to test to begin with.
