Okay So I'm taking finasteride for my hairloss, a lot of us are but I'm noticing that my leg hair especially on the outside of the lower part of my legs is disappearing, from a distance it appears I've shaved that part of them. Now I don't mind this that much after all pants exist but it does make me ponder the following question:

Why does DHT harm the head on our heads but promote the growth of hair on our body? Surely they're made of the same stuff and folicles are folicles so why?

One of the many mysteries of male pattern baldness. Basically its a good question with no real answer. Why is head hair sensitive to DHT at all?

You gain hair in your body and lose in your head.
A lot of bald Caucasian will jokingly say this.

Lost it all on top & gained it all all over below!

Yeah its funny how most places like balding blog say androgen levels of hairy men verse not hairy are about the same. It seems pretty overwhelming to me that the majority of men with bad male pattern baldness have tons of body hair. Androgens causing both body hair and male pattern baldness is pretty obvious IMO they are definitely linked. How many women have mats of back hair and full beards? Clearly androgens are vital to male pattern baldness
Cue all the guys saying they have no facial/body hair but still balding. Yes its sensitivity but no one knows how that works or how to fix it. Only control androgen levels or telling by body hair amounts which is why this matters, and its only the majority because we cant explain the sensitivity piece to explain every case.
