It calculates BMI, Waist to height ratio, estimated body fat, basal metabolic rate and more.

Based on my measurements, I've got 13% BF, 27.6BMI & 46.7WHtR. Not too shabby IMO.

finally. Any calculater worth anything must include height, weight, and waist. It would be nice to measure a few other areas, and none of these can be perfect. The calculater assumes that a person's fat is stored in the same place as most people's.

I've used calculators that just had waist and weight, or waist and height and nec, and these combos are not enough information to calculate anything. Others said I'm 18% body fat, and this one says 14%.

Now lets suppose I put 10 pounds of muscle on my upper body without changing my weight. Let's see what the calculator says my body fat change is:

Dropped from 14.3% to 12.9%. So it did not assume that all 10 pounds were muscle. It assumed some of that is fat stored elsewhere besides the waist. Not accurate. Don't get your hopes up on this calculator.

I didn't mean that it was the greatest calculator ever invented. I had just never seen a calculator that had as much info. Of course it can't take into account bone density, general build of a person etc.

It's a decent enough calculator to give you an idea of where you're at...And where you'd be if you, lost weight or lost some inches on your waist etc. It does not take the place of body fat testing via calipers etc.

Can you see your abs? If so, it may be close.

I'm still waiting for CCS to invent a calculator or formula for the CCS scale. :D

Nice find. Hysterical to note, everyone in here is reporting lower bodyfat percentages than either you or me... both of us being very avid bodybuilders from early youth. Mine was 9.6%, with a 24.9 BMI... probably not completely accurate, but interesting tool nonetheless.

what is the ideal body fat percentage on a guy? 8%? 10%?

The explanation is that we're both bulking of course. :)
