Ever since i started using nizoral and thicker, fuller hair shampoos, my hair seems to be alot lighter and just like flying around everywhere. Is there any shampoo or conditioner that can stop this and give my hair some weight and thickness? I dont think its like this because of the thinning because that is only in the front and the back is thick and full but still flies around like mad. My hair is not that long, may two inches on top. Thanks for your help.... Later

On the non-nizoral days, use a thickening conditioner.

Hey I have a quick question, I just bought Nizoral, and my hair is long (being a female). Do you guys think it's okay to wash my scalp with the nizoral then use my regular shampoo and conditioner on the rest of my hair? The nizoral dries out my hair too much.

If anybody can just gimme their input I'd appreciate it, thanks,

Laura

I dont like the idea of using a conditioner on Nizoral days because Nizoral is a topical medication. It takes time to absorb, and that's why you leave it on your scalp for 5 or more minutes. Using a conditioner *after* a medication will undoubtedly wash away or remove some of the Ket that has been absorbed into the scalp or that is still remaining on the scalp, rendering the medication less effective.

If you choose to use a conditioner, you might as well use another shampoo right after nizoral. Now, using a TSAL shampoo *before* nizoral may be beneficial because it removes the layer of dead skin from the scalp and opens pores for absorption.

See the post above. Allowing Nizoral to absorb into the scalp fully is essential to its effectiveness. I say this based on a conversation I had about this with Dr. Lee.

Where does it say to leave Nizoral on for 5 minutes? I just use it like the box suggests, and I used conditioner afterwards.

I dont use it for its supposed hair regrowth gains, It keeps my itchy scalp at bay.

On my bottle it says leave on for several minutes. Dr. Lee said that 5 minutes was a sufficient amount of time for absorption.
