Bloodwork to prep for finasteride

My hair's got so diffuse that I've finally decided to take the finasteride plunge.. But to just be on the safe side I thought it'd be a good idea to get some prep blood work done, just in case any sides popped up.

Just wondering what tests should I get done?
Sperm count too?

Finally, what would you recommend as a starting dose for finasteride?

1.25 mg a day of finasteride

Get testosterone, free testosterone, and dihydrotestosterone checked. I don't really think bloodwork is necessary unless you are uncomfortable not knowing whether you received a bad batch of drugs.

Are all these blood tests obtainable form a basic pathologist or do they require some kind of specialist?
