I was just curious if we could get a DHT count from a routine blood test. My dad whos a doctor said there is no such thing, but if we could test for testosterone, why couldn't DHT be tested as well?

Yes, at least here in Australia, I had my DHT tested twice, the first time it was 4.1 (1.x-4.3); and waiting for the result of the second test.
My serum DHT was quite good, my endocrinologist even said my serum DHT was slightly higher than the average of men my age-20. But I don't have significant body hair-except my underarm hair; and my facial hair, oh, not much noticeable. My scalp hair, thriving.

I live in Canada, and my son was given a salivia hormone panel. It was express mailed to the states for testing and the results faxed back to my doctors office. I was told on other sites that the results of this testing are not reliable, and that you could have blood tests done to measure dht and other hormones.
I believe that the results were reliable, because who's to say the guy that told me this knows anything more than me or my doctor. If anyone else knows different, feel free to let me know.
Anyways, the test was $86.00 and if anyone can give me any input to the results here they are: DHEA (cholesterol and pregnenlone) range 3-10ng/ml result 8 Normal
Progesterone range 5-95pg/ml result 267
Androstenedione range151-350pg/ml result 1000
testosterone 70-135pg/ml result 176
DHT result 96
estrone range 30-58pg/ml result 17
