My hair gets me worry recently since i discovered that I have a receding temple(not really noticable as I have long hair). But my cowlick(blad spot??) really gets me go nervous about my hair since my dad is very blad now and my brother(24) a NW2 going to NW3. I am only 20 although my hairline doesn't have a V or M shape(still some recession tho) like my brother but I am worry it can get worse than him because he found out he was blading around 22. I am considering to get on propecia but the sides really freak me out. I am gonna have an appointment with a derm, but i want you people with blading give me some input as well Thanks alot. I part my hair in some of the pictures so you can see a line there and it was always there since i started to part my hair, not sure if that's always that "wide" tho.

Re: Blading or cowlick??

Anyone else beside kezyguy? I don't know, a guy with not even a mature hair line but always say that he's a NW2 and balding, say that I am normal?? That's a goos sign i guess since he's always being so harsh/crazy about his hair even a very very tiny recession and think he's going blad.....

It is hard to tell; if I had to guess one way or the other I'd say you have a baldspot, but only a little one. Your hairline would reveal more; if it is receding then yes you might be going bald like your brother. You will know more in the next couple of years.

Re: Blading or cowlick??(Updated miniaturization on temple)

All these temple miniaturizations had convinced me to go on propecia as soon as school starts and I got my student insurance. I am going to derm for sure and then get some propecia. Since my temple's hairline isn't completely gone yet, I am going to save the miniaturization or at least keep what I have OR in the worst case slow down this sh*t by taking propecia. But if there's any side effect, I guess I will drop it.... :thumbdown2: f***, Why me, I can't be bald......Annoying sh*t.

its Norwood 1 is technically but not a full one, its thinning bad in the Norwood 1/2 area and its thinning bad in the temple and temporal peak area, like the sides look bad and although the hair in the front is miniaturized, the hairline isnt like, full blown Norwood 2- 3 ish..yet, your crown looks fine though

Although the temples are bad, but my frontal middle hairline is still very strong, it's still at the junvile hairline...I just hope once it's reach the mature hairline area (full NW2), the miniaturizations would stop ( probably dreaming). The side is weird, i don't know if that's the hair cut or DUPA, I haven't had a hair cut since 2 month.

imo i think your crown may be thinning

not yet a bald spot yet but none the less i think it should be "filled in more"

in fact my crown looked that that and my derm said i was "just starting to thin"

so ive now been on the big three for approx 6 months and my thinning is becoming less noticeable

the filled in hair is much thinner and weaker but i think they will become stronger in the next 6 months

you need to keep in mind the earlier you start treatments the easier it is to recover lost ground

just a few suggestions

BodyD. - Yea, I will go to a derm to check on my crown to see if there's any miniaturizations there. Since I always have very straight hair and Asians tends to have less density hair ( http://www.baldingblog.com/2009/07/08/d ... hair-loss/) which probably makes me to have a bigger cowlick than most people. Btw, have you experienced any side effect with propecia? The problem with propecia is that I can't afford them that much ( currently on student loans), but if these stuff really works and don't have much side effect, I will work my @ss of to buy them. Do you have any cowlick pictures currently or 6 month ago?
Thanks alot.

Your temples aren't anywhere near as bad as Krazyguy is letting on, don't stress so much.

You can get generic propecia for a lot cheaper if money is an issue btw.

Thanks alot.

no sides with using finasteride
i experienced a few little weird things at first but nothing extreme
examples- slight nipple sensitivity like 1-2 days out of the month, may have been from surfing
some decrease is semen- like only a little would come out "after" but usually only happens if i "do it" twice a day

all these "sides" IMO aren't really considered sides because they could occur to people not on finasteride, so it's good to keep things in perspective

to save money you could try purchasing 5mg finasteride "generic Proscar"
and split the pills into 4ths
i order mine from an canadian pharmacy for like $70 for 100 pills
thats basically a years supply of finasteride for under $100
wayyy cheaper compared to Propecia

ill work on "PM"ing you those before and after crown shots
