I'm thinking of using both or one or the other to counter my hairloss. Any tips, suggestions, advice? Thanks in advance.

Biotin won't do much but may make your hair feel better.

Saw Palmetto, who knows, it's not well studied as a treatment for hairloss. Effective dosages, if they exist, are not well known and the side-effects are not well documented either.

Depending on the severity of your hairloss you might want to consider an alternative antiandrogen. I'm guessing you had a reason for quitting Fincar? Perhaps try RU if you're out of options.

At best, biotin will only improve the quality of your existing hair. It won't do anything to regrow hair or prevent further loss.

I agree with what they said. I was using biotin for years and stedily receded, diffused thinning all OVER and increased balding at vertex and temples.

I'm looking to possibly try fluridil or RU. Either of you, which would do the best?

From what I have read-- RU, but it is not easy to get and i is expensive, and also the best to make fresh RU everyday, so it is a bit more work as well.

Thanks for the feedback.

I was on Fincar for 2 years but it looks like Canada has beefed up its import laws because I can't find anyone who will ship here. One alternative is get a mailbox in the States (fairly easy) and have it shipped there then go across the border and try to sneak it over. This sounds skittish in my opinion but will do it if I have to.

I'm looking at over the counter alternatives. It appears to be hit and miss but more on the miss side.

Thanks once again.

I just posted this a few minutes ago about a study out this week on 400 men saying saw palmetto did nothing for their prostates. So you could theorize that since the same mechanism of action on the prostate should be what would help with hair loss means it probably does nothing. But take it for what you will some people still think elvis is alive and maybe he is.
