Biotin and other supplements

How effective are supplements for hair loss? My gut instinct is that treating hair loss with vitamins and herbs only works for less aggressive forms of loss, and that propecia+minoxidil are probably the only things that are likely to work for people like us unless we have a vitamin deficiency, but I could be wrong. Regardless, I'm thinking of getting some high dose biotin tablets, since they've been proven to increase rate of hair growth. My feeling is that it will make my shedding phases shorter and less noticeable since new hairs will grow more quickly.

Nothing else works besides 5AR inhibitors. That's all we have right meow.

I'm not saying that you should take them, more so just letting you know that 99% of things advertised to treat hair loss don't do F all.

The only cosmetic difference you'll see is that your wallet is lighter and thinner along with your hair.

biotin and supplements are effective if you have a non-genetic hairloss (Telogen Effluvium caused by an unhealthy diet)

if you have a genetic hairloss only , this is totally useless . it's like punching a policeman and expecting to get away with it.

the only interest of taking biotin and the supplement thing is if you have vitamin deficiencies , that may cause diffuse thinning (Telogen Effluvium).

"DHT free hairs" grow faster? I don't follow the point you are making. Please kindly tell me how this biotin observation of yours will help our DHT sensitive hairs any? Thanx for sharing.

I mean its not prevent hal but sides or backs or non balding areas on top grows a lil bit faster maybe pyscologial not sure but THt s what happened to me and No effect on balding or thinning areas. I m not claiming it a a miracle or works alone but with finasteride it would be a good combination ofc

Yes 5AR inhibitors and androgen cause male pattern baldness but do you think finasteride is made from Magic? Natural supplements/diet can improve hair quality etc through other mechanisms. There was natural 5AR inhibitors that will improve hairloss without making you a sexual zombie.

the only reason "natural 5AR2 inhibitors" don't "make you a sex zombie" (have the same sides as finasteride) is because they aren't inhibiting 5AR2 like finasteride does and they are barely doing anything. Doesn't matter if you inhibit 5AR2 by "natural" means or by finasteride, it is the same thing. 5AR2 is inhibited. People obsessing over natural meds in all areas not just for hairloss is getting annoying

Telogen Effluvium would respond pretty well to natural vitamins. Not so much for male pattern baldness.

Biotin or other hair supplements/vitamin will not work alone if you have male pattern baldness but it's a good addition to a regimen if you use fina/duta/nizoral/minoxidil/spironolactone.
