I think that's his real hair. He had very thick hair throughout his 20's and it never really changed.

I think he's a legitimate NW1/1.5. The hairstyle makes it seem like a toupee - similar to Rod Blagojevich.

He's wiggin' out, and fairly obviously. Color change from top to sides is obvious, and also looks like two pieces.

It's really hard to say on this one. It's true that his hair looks convincingly real. It's also true that if this guy were to have a wig, he'd be able to afford the most realistic system out there.

So when did he start wearing because there have been photo's of him for thw last 30 yrs without any obvious hairloss.

THAT is his REAL hair. Please look up more recent pictures of him from his interviews and you will notice he's got a big bald spot on his crown/back.
I dont really this this man cares about his looks too much to wear a wig.

The only reason he would probably care about his appearance in general is because he is a public figure but just not enough to wear a wig.

I don't think Gates has enough testosterone to lose his hair... Kind of like Jay Leno. You don't usually see guys with the high squeaky voices losing their hair.

Not sure about that there are plenty of wimpy guys who are totally bald, also plenty of hugely macho guys who keep juevenile hairlines.

I agee with Saf. I know skinny, nerdy bald white guys. There is no other characteristic that correlates with body hair. Although, I find myself feeling like bald guys tend to be fatter and have more body hair.
