big white flakes

So I've been noticing, in the past couple months, these big white flakes (some as much as 1/2 inch in diamater) on my hair. They seem to be crusted onto the hairs themselves so if i pull them off a bunch of hairs come with them. Is this a side effect of propecia, minoxidil foam, or does it come with the territory of balding? I'm hoping that a more strict regiment of T-Sal and 1% Nizoral will work.

Yes, I did during the first 2-4 months of using minoxidil. Are you using minoxidil?

If so, the use of Nizoral, plus time, made the symptom completely subside.

strangely, I had them just as bad before I used rogaine. I'm thinking its a symptom of the balding..

If you had them before you started using the products, why would you think they're a side effect from them?

I've never heard of anyone having a worse case of dandruff as they started to bald. In fact, my dandruff has minimized since I started receding.

i guess theres the possibility that its the symptom of propecia, since I've been on that for months...I've deffinatly never seen flakes like this before I started balding
