I have also seem to have lost what seemed like good results on liquid after i switched to foam. Plan on going back to liquid after i finish my next bottle of foam. People say it's because it gets in your hair, but i put the nozzle right down near my scalp and spray little blobs on the effected area. It turns into a liquid because my scalp is warm so melts fairly quickly. However, I still feel like i've lost results. Either that or minoxidil was having no effect on me in the first place. Also switching to DNC-L for a month (sounds like the best minoxidil application but it's too pricey to use every month)
