Alot of people are worried about finasteride. I don't know about that cuz I haven't used it. What side effects are you worrying about from minoxidil though? I think you should get that. Topicals like revivogen and spironolactone are products that people consider highly on this site. Both for maintenance I think.

Finasteride has a very low (2%) incidence of side effects and any sides are reversible. I havent heard of ANY side effects being connected with minoxidil, other than scalp irritation.

Aside from finasteride/dutasteride and minoxidil... I'd say

1) nizoral shampoo
2) topical spironolactone or RU58841
3) copper peptides (folligen, tricomin)
4) retin-A ? (I couldn't tell to what extent it might be good or bad)

. . . . and headaches, increased heart rate, dizziness, & increased body hair (if you're susceptible to minoxidil sides).

I thought that was limited to the people who applied minoxidil to a wet scalp.

Applying minoxidil to a wet scalp will increase the minoxidil absorbtion rate - but most people can get away with it.

There are a minority of users out there who can't use the 5% minoxidil, period, whether applied to a wet scalp or dry. Kind of like finasteride - most guys don't experience any negative sides - but there are some who do.
