He is the second place democratic candidate right now and is more socially libertarian than Clinton and has no history of scandals. He also is the only candidate who does not think the solution is to raise crime penalties higher and higher. Half of democrats don't know who he is, though the ones who do, like him. Even many conservatives like him when they learn about him. 80% of his funding is from small domestic donors, whereas most of Clinton's is foreign large donors. He has about 1/3 as much funding as she does.

Have a look at where he stands on the issues, from his long voting record. He has 86% approval in his home state, Vermont.

Bernie Sanders is the best presidential candidate of the lot, speaking as a European, I hope you guys vote for him. That said, he's still a hawk, like virtually every US presidential candidate. They all have widely varying stances on US domestic policy, but regardless of who America votes for, US foreign policy remains unfortunately the same...

Well, he won't win. Guess why? Because he will be declared a "communist" or a "socialist". It doesn't matter that the US-American public has no idea what communism or socialism actually is - anything that's only social is declared socialist.

Health insurance for everyone, like the rest of the developed world has had for 70 years or more? No way, that's socialism!
Sensible gun laws, which actually prevent mass shootings, like the rest of the developed world has had for 70 years or more (and thus, no mass shootings like in the US)? No way, the guvanment is taking away my freedomz!!11

With the general level of education in the US, there is no way that Sanders will win. Public opinion can be manipulated in favor of hardcore right wing and neocon policy just by proclaiming something as "communist" or "socialist", even when it isn't. That way, the public has supported - for generations - policies that aren't in its interest. Oh well.

US-Americans, watch this video: Wealth Distribution in the US. Just to give you a small hint:

I know there is a lot of dumb dumbs in America but please vote for Bernie Sanders even it if it may seem hopeless. By not voting, you can only blame yourself.
I am from the UK. Our political system is a joke.

Sanders is giving Clinton serious competition. It seems democrats prefer him to Clinton. They are just holding back because they are afraid he would lose in the general election.
