Hi I'm going to start finasteride this week. I've read a lot of stuff and I just want to know how to proceed when/if side effects present, since I dont know how to tell if the sides will pass as some people report, or whether its doing actual damage.

To make matters worse, my libido for instance, is already fairly low mostly due to being close to 6 months into a diet. I had some life-altering crap go down about a month ago and the stress has been unreal, my caloric deficit is now pretty extreme. I mention this because my libidio returns when Im eating at a surplus. I suspect I'm also suffering from some form of adrenal fatigue. I know this is reading like a hyperchondriac, but Im being very level about this.

I plan to ramp up my doseage, but other than that I want to make sure I give it a good go without compromising myself beyond what is necessary if sides screw me over the way my hair has.

Everyone responds differently so you just have to try it and see what happens I started with .25mg and I'm on it two months life altering sides deff reduce in sex drive but everything still works when I need it too so its all good

I am hoping it would most people get it back when they discontinue the medications there are some that say they don't but they seem to be a rare case. One thing people forget about these hair loss forums is there are a huge number of people that take finasteride in the world and have success and continue with there lives, its only a small percentage of those people come on hairloss forums, they are usually the ones with issues and seek advise etc... so if you take a snap shot of a general opinion of finasteride from a forum its a very skewed opinion and one that should analyzed deeper

I appreciate that. I just hope Im a good responder. I remember years ago a barber suggested I try finasteride to slow down the hair loss. Now Im seeing people not only freeze it, but often regain some of what they lost. If I knew back then what I know now Id probably still have a lot of hair.
