I have seen some great improvements but it seems as though the past 5 months my hair has stopped improving

My hair line right up in the corners is starting to thin out again and the hair up there won't turn into terminal hair

What are some other treatments that i can add to my regime to help me get my hairline at a more progressive stage

It just seems as though in the past 2 months this corners are starting to thin out .. and i am just trying to catch them as early as possible

Thanks.

Dutasteride if you have problems maintaining your hair might be an option!

yeah, if your 5ar blocker can't maintain your hair by itself, then you need a stronger one or an androgen receptor blocker.

the SOD's and growth stimulants should just length your hair. If you are using them to slow the loss, you are in trouble.

Try scalp exercises too (see link below).

I'd definately add an SOD. Prox-n, tricomin or folligen.

Yes that would be my first addition to your regime. If you see you aren't maintaining with that, then consider switching from finasteride to dutasteride.

Dude, I've been on the big 1 (finasteride) for 1 year and 7 months and I've tooken a turn for the worst also the past couple months..

I'm sh*t'n bricks but am going to lie to myself and pretend its a summer shed and see what happens in the next few months on finasteride.

SODs are a class of chemicals. I forget what the acronymn stands for. You can get the actually definition and more at http://www.drproctor.com or http://www.skinbiology.com.

The main ones I know of are sold as folligen, tricomin, american crew revitalize spray, prox-N, maybe a few others. Copper peptides are a main group of SODs, and there are the random ones in folligen which were tested on rats, and the tri-amino ones that have been used on animals to prevent sheds after surgery for year and passed FDA phase II trials and outperformed minoxidil. Those are in the tricomin and AC spray. Prox-N has copper and zink pepetides.

ang_99,

some people get sheds on the way to getting better, but some people's male pattern baldness gets more aggressive over time too. At 1 year and 3 months, I'd say if you got really good results before, this is the former case, and if it just maintained your hair this whole time, this is the later case. 17% of men don't even maintain hair on propecia, and of the 83% that do (I don't know if it is the first year or 5 years or the top or the vertex), some start lossing hair later. Do not stop taking a 5ar inhibitor like dutasteride or finasteride. Stay on one, but consider upping your finasteride dose or taking some dutasteride. Dutas is cheap. You can take 2-3 per week if you are worried about not having enough DHT or too much testosterone. The stuff is stronger than proscar (finasteride 5mg at that dose). If you are affraid it is fake, take your finasteride at the same time. The finasteride will have no extra effect or give you any problems if you take it with dutasteride, it is just a backup.

Well, it maintained at best so I guess I'm screwed. I have a funny feeling that dutasteride wont do much for me, maybe intitially I'll see something positive happen but I think my hair will continue to thin just like on finasteride after a some months pass. Maybe I should try minoxidil but am scared of the horrible shed stories that I read on here. I cant afford to go through a big shed as that would make my hair completely unacceptible. Thing that pissed me off is all I needed was maintanence and I would have been very happy with that. I did not care if I had any regrowth from finasteride so I figured I was in good shape. I'm at a loss at this point. :(

add folligen, unless you can afford tricomin. In that case, alternate them each day, and dilute the folligen 50% with water, or maybe add a little ethanol. I might use it full strength some day.

If you can afford it, prox-N is good for small areas. American crew is good if you can get the patented stuff. It is probably gone by now though, but you can search for it on google. Now they have a different active ingredient with no clinical backing.

NANO shampoo is good for alternating with the nizoral 1%. I can only afford the lef.org NANO, though.

I don't know how much you are paying for propecia, but if you get dutas or duprost on http://www.inhousepharmacy.com, or http://www.unitedpharmacy.com, or get fincar and cut in 4th, you can use your saved money to buy eucapil at http://www.eucapil.com. It is easy to apply to dense areas and is not messy or sticky at all. But it is close to $45 per month. If your hair is dense, I don't think lee's spironolactone is an option.
