Hi!

I noticed my hairloss about a year ago, and started on Proscar, according advice from my doctor.

Just about 2 months ago, I started on Mixo (Regaine in Denmark) on my crown area.

And about the same time, I discovered that my hairline was receding. It was the first time I noticed this. There was definetly evidence of thinning in the area of my temples....

Is this normal, ... after a year of Proscar? I don't always take proscar, at the same time everyday. Sometimes in the morning, other times at noon. Does that make any difference...?? Really would appreciate any knowledgeable response...

Thanks...:)

If you just started Rogaine 2 months ago then that MAY be where your shed is coming from... Months 2 to 3 are a good time for it.

alrighty.... but...:)

I used mixo on my crown... can that really affect my temples...?????

and for the question on how regular you take proscar... does that make a difference... I mean, if you one day take it in the morning, and the next day take it at high noon.... will this impact anything.... I have been very fluxuating in my "eating pills" schedule....:)

hey...

the topical rogaine can effect areas other than where you intentionally put it. This has been shown in the studies and rogaine admits to causing more/thicker facial/neck hair. In fact, it was discovered that it causes hair growth BECAUSE of this fact while it was being used as a blood pressure medicine.

when you take proscar does not matter. you did not cause your hair to fall out. you did not cause your hair to fall out. :-D its effects will continue. however, you should take it every day.

My question is this though, was proscar working? if so, why did you start minoxidil? if you start loosing hair after starting a treatment, and things were doing fine.... maybe you should ask your doctor if you should stop the minoxidil... did you consult him before you started it?

hope all is doing ok...

well....

in the beginning, I was loosing hair rapidly... but after a while, the fallout :) if you can call it that, pretty much stopped... regarding my crown area.... so I think the proscar did it's effect..... but the semi-bald spot... didn't disappear... and it annoyed me.... still... I think that I have thinner hair, than I had like a year ago... but... it's hard being objective about this...

but if regaine is causing shedding other places, will that hair come back later... how long will I need to be patient to proove this theory... is shedding a matter of months?

there is really no way to tell thomas.

IF the rogaine is causing it, then yes, you will regrow the hair, and chances are it will even come back thicker. The proscar can even be causing it, as it is normal to go through shedding phases on it also. What I would suggest, is that you keep using the rogaine, start taking pictures and have your doctor follow your progress. (he can be objective)

My best advice, although it is obviously the hardest thing to do. is to try and not worry. just go about your dialy routines as if nothing different was happening. The most important treatment isn't what someone else gives you to put on top of your head, but what you do inside your head.

you will be fine....
