I'm 30 years old and have noticed that I've been balding since I was around 25. I had a hair transplant consultation done with Hasson and Wong in Vancouver, BC in March 2018. They wanted me to try finasteride first and then re-evaluate in a year for the hair transplant surgery. They determined that I'm between Norwood class 5 and 6. I'm currently on and have been on finasteride (a quarter of 5mg daily) dose since April. 6th, 2018. I took photos from April, May, and this month which I've attached below (click on image to view full, bigger picture). Do you notice any difference so far?

For sure, there is growth in there. I think you should wait a full year on finasteride before deciding whether you should do a hair transplant. I think there’s plenty of more growth to come.
Good luck!

Thanks! I'm gonna update this thread in a couple more months to measure my progress. Really excited to see how much more progress to come.

Yeah looks like there is some regrowth. If finasteride can buy you some years then you might not even need a transplant until your late 30s. Did hair fall stop after using finasteride? And any sides?

Yeah, I'm 30 years old right now. I may not even need a transplant depending on how the results are with the finasteride.

After using finasteride, I did note hair shedding for first couple of weeks but that went away. I didn't note any side effects thankfully because they warned me about possible sexual side effects.

There is definitely some improvement! :)

Thank you. I can't wait until December to see what result I'll have. Would make a great Xmas gift to have a full head of hair again. :) I will be sure to update here then.

I think my hair looks better now compared to April. Especially if you look in the 2nd pic in April, my hair looked dry, brittle, lifeless and sparse back then. But compare that pic with the August pics, I think my hair looks more shinier and healthier in the August pics.
