Ive been reading this site for a while but havent really had much to say of my own. Ive read that you should give treatments a year to work but thats a year almost to the day ive been using regaine x2 a day and popping an Avodart cap each morning. I just had a shower and looked in the mirror to find that things have changed, unfortunately for the worse.

I started in jan 04 with just Pro itself once a day until the start of December when I had noticed that things hadnt changed at all, thats when i moved to Avodart and also Regaine. Now thats been 12 months and things look a fair chunk worse I;m left wondering what I should do now. I already shave my head twice a week but I was hoping to grow back some hair so I didnt have to any longer. I've even had thoughts that the drugs Im buying arent really what they say on the packet (Ive bought everything from Direct Response Marketing) and that over the last couple of years Ive wasted a lot of cash in a vain attempt.

what would you guys recommend I do? should I switch back to Pro and continue using regaine. Should I try a different supplier and brand? I'm open to all advice I can get. Thanks for reading btw.

thank you for your replies, to anser them in order here goes.

a. Ive never been to a doctor about hair loss as its a cosmetic not medical ailment (so I think)

b. only noticed something wasnt right in 2002 but it was really noticable in the middle of 2003. Im 29 now.

c. I dont know what a norwood scale is so Ive included some blurred pics of my hair as it is now

d. it is GSK dutasteride I have been getting, Ill sure check out the sites you mention though for more information.

Here are the snaps of my head for you to see. sorry about the quality, its tricky holding a camera above your head in low light :)

thanks again guys

Looks to me like you have a pretty good head of hair. I would just keep on keeping on, however I would visit a MD once in a while. It couldn't hurt. And I do mean a Doctor that cares about the subject, as some don't.

Its definately a lot worse than a year ago. There are distinct dark patches at the front of my head and its all very thin on top so even after only a week its really noticable :(
