Minoxidil even though the mechanics are unknown, has shown positive results by itself and in combination with other treatments. Minoxidil unfortunately does not work for everyone nor does it prevent hair loss from further progressing. Nizoral as a shampoo has not shown anything as I can see on it's own as a positive treatment for androgenic hair loss nor does ketoconazole's pharmacokinetics.

Thats because shampoos arent that great to handle because a lot of it ends up in your hair etc.

In german forums people use alc to make a ket lotion they can apply with a pipette and leave in for 30min.

Ket seems to work by pgd2 possible, but basically also gonna lower the quality of your hair by affecting pge2 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12630766

I’m just going to throw this in there - I use Evolis shampoo. It’s this stuff containing an ingredient which is supposed to lengthen the Anagen phase of your hair, but they say use the serum with it. I don’t really believe it to be honest, but I will say that it smells lovely and has an immediate thickening effect on the hair which is nice. I would recommend it for those reasons.

I dont have the source but swiss also said not to take Ket when you are on the pg protocoll cause it fucks with the pge2 receptor.
May I ask what the PGE2 protocol is? I have read all the studies connecting PGD2 to inhibition of hair growth and balding in men, so I’m wondering what you mean by this? Is there something people are now trying out relating to PGE2? All I’ve seen are things where people are testing D2 inhibitors I’m home made brews (to no real effect that I know of)

There you go:
http://swisstemples.com/the-prostaglandin-protocol/

I for now go with selenium disfulide cause it is a pgd2 antagonist.

Just rubbing it in for 5min and then I leave it 30min on, still considering making a lotion. Just three weeks(first week daily, now every 2nd) so far, nonetheless it should work. I read some forums from 2015 when pgd2 was still focused by everyone, and some people seemed to have success with it (shedding stopped, no itching...). For some reason in forums it is always ket which kills off both, pge2 and pgd2 (even if only to a certain extend).

I would guess it's because people assume that ketoconazole penetrates the scalp and prevents DHT from binding to the scalp AR's. The funny thing is, none of Nizorals active ingredients namely "Keto" get's absorbed through the scalp. With that in mind, I don't believe Keto anti androgenic effects block AR's, I may be wrong though. This shampoo does absolutely nothing for androgenic related hair loss. It can be helpful if hair loss is the result of other conditions such a SD and other inflammatory conditions.

Yes. Keto might be an amazing AA, but in shampoo form it doesnt really matter. Some studies like it helped compliment propecia are flimsy at best. You still need an AA like propecia, and nizoral isnt a replacement.
