Basic question: What causes unnatural-looking hairlines in a hair system?

Fairly basic question:

When I look at hair systems, the part that often is the most problematic is the hairline. It often looks unnatural to me, though I suspect that in many / most cases most normal people wouldn't pay much attention to that and wouldn't notice it.

My questions:

- What is the reason for the unnaturalness? Is it that the hairline is too straight, or that the density at the very front is too high? Both? Neither?

- How can it be avoided?

- Why do many people and salons fail to avoid it? If there is some way to avoid this problem, why do I see it in many cases?

Thanks in advance : )

Too dark - especially at the root, so you need bleached knots (lace) or buy light hair and dye it dark (on poly/UTS).
Excess lace/UTS showing
Too straight, which looks unnatural

Many system wearers don't expose the hairline so aren't that fussed by it. Or they just don't realise how bad it looks.

Salons are nonchalant about it: if the customer buys the system then the salon doesn't need to be concerned any more than just getting the sale done.

It's really up to the wearer to work on the hairline and design what works for them. It look me almost 2 years to get to a hairline that I was happy with (see my previous pics on this forum) and I had to do quite a bit of research and take a chance with a system - but I had a great stylist who help me achieve the hairline I wanted.

Thanks for your responses, @deg_dilemma, @ChickenStranger !

@deg_dilemma , could you describe this process, that took you 2 years? I would be interested to hear what you tried, what mistakes you made, what you've learned, and how you ended up with a hairline that you're happy with. Do you usually expose your hairline?

@Regan it would be far better for you to read my previous posts on this subject, than for me to write it all up again :)
